hair and make up for irish dancers!

ok so if its not obvious irish dancing is a big part of my life and as you also probably no, looking the part in irish dancing is a big one and will get you higher up the scoring ladder!

so for a bit wigs were the big thing like this
this is called a full head wig

...
ok so this is what all of the girls dancing were wearing to go competing and to do certain shows, however these are not worn as often any more and they have gone back to the traditional style of down and curly like so...

this is the old traditional way before wigs were about,it is simply down and curly with jewelry corresponding to the color scheme of the solo dress.

this style is so much more hassle free from the wigs,it is curled and pinned to the side using either grips or gel and completed with jewelry and sparkles (an Irish dancer can never have too much sparkle) corresponding to the color scheme of the solo dress. This style has particularly come out this year, especially at the Boston world champion ships.
...
Another style that has come up is a side bun again completed with MORE sparkles!! like so...
although is is difficult to see on this picture the girl in the pink has got her  hair in a large bun on the side
...
This style gives a smart sophisticated look to the young girl, it also looks neat and tidy. She looks presented well and looks ready to dance! This is a personal fave!
...
Although full head wigs are beginning to be seen less of, the double bun wig has never gone out of fashion and always looks gorgeous!

Make up!

So my top tips for Irish dancers
  • Always gone a shade darker than what you usually wear as the lighting on stage makes you look extra pale!
  • ORANGE LEGS always look amazing on stage,i strongly recommend a spray tan before any comp
  • There is never enough sparkle,we love sparkle!!
  • Go for the same color eye shadow are the color scheme of your dress, for example my solo dress is blue and white, there fore i would wear blue eye shadow
  • No lipstick is ever too bright, wear the brightest, redest lipstick you can find as it looks amazing on stage
  • SMILE is the best make up an Irish dancer could wear!!

Summer time!

So summer is coming, well it should be already here but you know British weather, you can never be to sure! So anyway, you need to stay sun burn free and get out those cute little shorts, so coming up in this post is a few tips on your summer body, best summer make up tips and how to keep your skin sun burn free!
Ok so first up is this summer body look! I think the key look to a summer body is have a toned tummy and toned legs! First off is your toned tummy, I do this by:
1) doing 25 crunches a day, prefribly at night after tea
2) 25 squats again after tea
3) 25s planking
4) 25 leg raises
And then you gradually build this up day after day! This will tone your tummy as well as your legs!
Next is how to keep sun burn free, well I use P10. It's a sun cream that you apply 1 hour enforce you go out in the sun and it still lets you have a gradual tan! It works a treat, if you are extra fair try p20 this is a higher factor and is better to use in hotter weather.

SUMMER LOOK! Omg I can't tell you how much I love doing my make up in the summer! It's another excuse to get the bright lip stick and nail varnishes out! EEEEP! So I love bright lip sticks and briight nail varnish colours so I think it's vital to tone it down and use pastel, summery colours as your clothing! You could always spice it up with bright jewellery at the end!
You need to keep natural colours on the eyes as something to heavy is to dark! Light pink blushers and browsing powder help give your face that extra radiant glow!

May favourites being uploaded soon maybe in a cheeky video!

Beauty

Hello, so as I am in love with all things bright and beautiful I was thinking of reviewing beauty products as well as general Irish dancing!
I think they both love together as an appearance of an Irish dancer is just as important... And I just live beauty!
I am hoping that it goes well and i have already got 3 major brands lined up, enjoy!

What I can do

Okay, so his is me and my friend steph having our pictures taken in our dance HQ. the top left is a toe stand in heavies, which are the shoes with the sort of heel, and a toe stand in lights, which are the shoes. I am he one on the left - steph on the right. The top right is e same but the back view to show how far are legs are crossed over. On the bottom is me (on the left) and steph (on the right) pointing our toes, which is a golden rule on how Irish Dancers should start their dance, their right foot crossed over their left and their left foot turned out. We also have ceili arms. But I will explain about ceili later on!
